How It Works
The reciprocal rule states your shutter speed denominator should be at least equal to your effective focal length (focal length x crop factor). So a 50mm lens on a 1.5x crop sensor needs at least 1/75s. Image stabilization lets you go slower by the rated number of stops. For moving subjects, you need faster speeds regardless of IS since stabilization only corrects camera shake, not subject motion.
